Shenali De Fonseka

Founder - Shenali De Fonseka Interior Design Studio

Shenali, an Interior Design graduate from AOD, specialises in interior architecture, styling, furnishing, spatial planning, and concept-driven design. She has excelled as a creative entrepreneur through her design studio and has contributed to local and international projects alongside Sri Lanka's most acclaimed designers. Her expertise spans various areas, including residential, commercial, and retail design projects.

"I started with Design Foundation and then moved on to my Degree in Interior Design. I had great lecturers at AOD who worked tirelessly to bring out my true potential. What I liked about AOD the most was that we were not restricted to classroom lectures. We had a lot of practical exposure where we visited creations by legendary Architects of Sri Lanka, Art Exhibitions and local and foreign Study Tours. Once completing my education at AOD I was quite confident to start working in the industry; thanks to my lecturers who sharpened my skills and built my confidence by sharing their knowledge and real life experiences."

After graduating from AOD, Shenali gained valuable experience as an Interior Designer at Murad Ismail Channa Daswatte Associates for 5 years. During her tenure, she contributed to prestigious projects such as Waters Edge, Omegaline Villas, Feroz Omar Residence, Akram Cassim Residence, BARS Café, Colombo Jewellery Store, Aitken Spence Western Union Office, and Heritage Grove Housing Scheme. Following this, she established her own highly successful design studio, which has been revolutionising the interior architectural scene in Sri Lanka with its comprehensive design solutions.
