SHOW INSIGHT: AMESH by FASHION SCOUT LONDON

Amesh’s debut collection combines local craft with modern techniques to create free-flowing and loose fitting pieces, featuring distressed knit and floral prints. High waisted trousers and jumpsuits blurred the gender lines smoothly.

For the Spring Summer 2018 collection, Amesh collaborated with luxury sustainable lifestyle brand SRI to create modern and refreshing designs. He aims to reflect his home country, Sri Lanka, through his work, and appeal ‘to a cultured, carefree, adventurous consumer’.

Dip dyeing and screen prints were of the techniques used, blended together with hand woven silks. An abstract red floral print reoccurred throughout the collection, appearing on dresses, tops and trousers. Long dresses embraced the blending of colours as reds, oranges, and yellows faded together beautifully.

Notable designs include a gorgeous green jumpsuit, high-waisted baggy metallic trousers with a long rope belt, and long dresses with abstract prints.

With an impressive debut collection, Amesh is a graduate of the Academy of Design Sri Lanka, and was the winner of Oracle International Catwalk Competition at Graduate Fashion Week 2016. His work reflects his belief of breaking boundaries and designing with no limitation.
